Who We Are
The Heather Club offers cognitive stimulation, sociability/friendliness and enjoyment to people living with memory loss and early stage dementia, and respite to their carers for up to two days a week. In a relaxed and happy atmosphere, it provides, a range of activities including; table games, art/crafts, memory and physical exercise, entertainment and outings.
From personal experience, we understand the importance of support and respite, both to members living with memory loss and early stage dementia and those who care for them. The Heather Club believe that for two days a week, members are offered cognitive stimulation, resulting in a sense of community, reducing isolation and affirming their sense of identity thus making a significant contribution to their well-being and quality of life.

The club was launched in 1981 to help anyone with memory, communication, or thinking impairment to maintain some independence, make friendships and uphold social skills and in the process to enable carers to have some respite from their duties
It is a registered charity (no 1015598) with trustees all of whom have been involved in voluntary organisations for many years.
The club was voted the Best Dementia Care Centre 2020 – Dacorum by Global Health & Pharma under its annual Social Care awards
